Musician
Description: | Hi there. I live in Henley and have been playing in and managing a successful high energy, events band for the last 20 years. Although the band is still a going concern, I'm now wanting to try something different. I've been inspired by recent bands and records I've heard to create a very lively, upbeat and creative guitar/bass/drum (or could be cajon) group to play live and entertain people. I saw a band called 'Thrill Collins' a couple of times (google them), so a similarish model to that - although maybe more emphasis on a skiffle type sound. Critically, any genre or style is on the table. Likely to be plenty of mash ups. Any applicants will need to: - Be of a good, versatile standard - Have gigged a fair bit - Be happy playing by ear - Be able to sing some BVs/harmonies (lead even better!) - Probably within half hour or so of Henley. Although the band will be a commercial proposition, it won't be commercially driven. So it probably wouldn't suit existing jobbing musicians who play across three or four bands. This is really for people like me who want to take the time to get the project up to a high standard. So you'll likely already have a day job doing something else but want a passion project to get involved in. I'm open to the band expanding to include maybe a second guitarist/ukulele player. But want to find a like minded double bass and drummer/percussionist to form the pulse of the line up first. That's about it. Age not really important. I'm in my forties. Sorry for the long message. But better to have more details upfront. Look forward to hearing from you. Stephen |
