I'm looking to start a casual band or music group, and play some music in lighter, mellow styles that aren't really mainstream. If you like Japanese anime-style music, indie pop, indie rock, country, folk, jazz, light rock, and you can sing and/or play a few basic chords on the guitar or piano, contact me! If you have some musical ideas in your head, and you think they can be turned into a song or a composition, contact me! There's no pressure whatsoever, and the only real requirement is passion for some of the previously mentioned styles of music. The main purpose is to have fun with like-minded musicians and vocalists.
A bit about myself: I'm a 35-year-old male, and a self-taught musician who's been playing piano and guitar for about 15 years. I've been playing on-and-off and I've not been practicing nearly as much as I should, so I still have a LOT to learn! To give you an idea of my skill set, I can play the fingerstyle riff in Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire", I can play "Unstolen Jewel" from Chrono Cross, and Eric Clapton's Tears In Heaven. I can transcribe most pop and rock songs by just listening to them, and my music theory is fairly solid. I have Logic Pro X and I'm capable of recording, creating some drum and synth sounds, and producing a decent mix. I'm often told that I have an alright singing voice, though I have trouble hitting those high notes. So I guess I'm musically quite well-rounded.
That said, I have no professional experience with music. I played in several concerts during high school, but that's about it. If you think we have some musical common ground, tell me a bit about yourself and maybe we can start a thing! |
