Our rock covers band is based near St Ives in Cambridgeshire, and we urgently need to replace a guy who has moved on. We play mostly pubs once or twice a month, with over 140 gigs to date, covering Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, White Stripes, Talking Heads, Snow Patrol, Elvis Costello, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Zutons, ZZT and the like.
Line-up is female lead/backing singer, guitar, bass, a drummer who also does lead and backing vocals, plus the singer/guitarist of the last few years who has now moved on to more regular gigging with several other bands that he also plays in. We seek someone similar who can take lead on some songs, and back/harmonise on others, on both voice and guitar.
We need a reasonably experienced person enthused by performing in public to a good standard, and local enough to commit to regular rehearsals near St Ives. We have no aspirations of rock careers, recording contracts etc, just a desire to perform. We do need however somebody with a reasonable understanding of music and how songs work, with sufficient confidence to help in our continuing improvement.
