Musician
Description: | Having recently lost our drummer, we are looking for a replacement. We are all on the "older "side of life, and the audience experience is more important to us than our personal taste - although it has to be fun to play. Currently playing a range of pop/chart/classic songs from 1970s (Superstition, Play than funky music) though 80s (Duran, Tears for Fears, B52s, toto etc) into the 21st century (Maroon 5, The Hoosiers, Scissor Sisters) and beyond (Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars etc). We aim to bring a few more modern (relatively) numbers (Daft Punk, Girls aloud and the like) to suit the younger audience along with more 80s/90s/00s for variation in the more generic/family venues. We are Bass/guitar/keys and vocal. We run a full PA, Lighting and all use in ear monitoring. The ability to feed the mixer with a stereo drum mix in a must. That can be via triggers and a drum module (from hybrid, electronic or traditional kit) as a preference OR by mic'ing your kit and sub mixing to the stereo pair. a smaller footprint (due to venue restrictions and a full sized keys/piano rig), and quickish set up/tear down is nice - but we have worked setups taking 60 mins plus to set up so again not a must. We are quite casual, and aim to gig/rehearse a couple of times a month on average. We have played since lockdown and do have some bookings for next year. Our preferred rehearsal time is a Sunday - due to work commitments during the week however we can come a to a compromise if thats not suitable for the new member. vocals is not a requirement but always welcome. A wireless in ear system can be provided (bar the headphones/earphones), as can a vocal microphone if needed. We are all competent in our musicality if not "special" but its more about the whole than any one individual. |
