Hi
We're looking for a bassist and synth bass player (basic single note keyboard playing) to join our already functioning synth / indie / dance band. The ideal person will be able to switch between live bass and synth bass as and when. The band is called Templeton and at the moment it's split into two modes. I write, record and release the music at home - the band and I are currently re-inventing and bringing the songs to life for the live show. The first album has a fun, 80's twinge to it and the second album that's currently in the works has a heavier dance feel to it, it's a huge step up so far. It's got its own definitive sound though, and we're currently doing fairly well on Spotify.
We practise twice a week near temple meads, we're all friendly and are having an absolute blast. We're all 24-27 years old, and we're all entirely dedicated and looking to turn this into a career. We've struggled to find the right bassist because admittedly, the tone is quite hard to perfect. We're looking for someone who is excited and knowledgeable, who will take pleasure in working on the tones and intricacies at home and who is willing to research and buy the necessary pedals to achieve this. This doesn't need to happen overnight, but through trial and error, we've discovered that just plugging in the bass and playing the notes, hasn't suited the genre at all.
On the plus side, it's a really rewarding genre to play. We've had interest from local festivals - and with the right person, we'll be ready to play larger shows off the bat. We're making some real progress with it, it sounds beefy and completely full of life when we play - but we can't keep playing along to the sampled basslines. Please get in touch if you think you'd like to join, you have a similar level of ambition and can meet the criteria. Thanks!
