Hey there, I'm Sam 25 years old. I live in Grantham but happy to travel a bit to surrounding cities in Nottinghamshire/Linconshire/Leicestershire. I used to play drums more, did some gigs in Liverpool and Merseyside, but then went to university/started working/got my house/adult stuff. I'm wanting go get back into drumming again. I'm looking to find other musicians who need a drummer, initially just to jam with but in time I may be willing to commit to regular practice/gigging if that's the route we want to go down.
My kit is still at my parental home in Manchester but if we start practicing regularly/gigging I can go and get that and keep in my garage. Unfortunately nowhere to set up in my home so would need to practice elsewhere like a rehearsal studio.
I began drum tuition when I was 10 years old and had weekly lessons for around 7 years, never formally progressed through the grades but I can lay down a solid beat, keep it fairly simple and play to the dynamics of the song. I'm not the kind of drummer that's going to crave all the attention and add a big fill every 4 bars, unless it fits with the music. |

Some bands I enjoy playing to are Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals, Arctic Monkeys, Kiev, Alt-J, The Black Keys, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foster the People. I also listen to a lot of acoustic or low key singer/songwriters and I'd be happy to support these kinds of musicians with percussion also. I'm not interested in metal bands. |
