I'm a melodeon player at intermediate level, looking for people to play English, Scottish and Irish folk music with, both for fun and perhaps live too.
I love playing and think the next step is to play with others, have fun and go from there.
I am fairly proficient in English Morris tunes (Portsmouth, Orange in Bloom, Salmon Tails, Bobbing Around, Black Joke), as well as other English and Scottish tunes (Hexham Races, Jenny Pluck Pears, Battle of the Somme, 100 Pipers etc).
For Irish tunes I'm very much at beginner level, and can only proficiently play polkas and hornpipes without ornamentation (Egan's, the Yellow Cow, Maggie in the Woods, Boys of Bluehill etc).
I have played live hundreds of times with the bass, but with the melodeon have only done May Day processions and some backing for Morris dancing.
I am based in the Maidstone area and drive, and can accomodate for practices! |
