I'm an intermediate-level clarinet and alto sax player. I played a lot at school and got to Grade 7 clarinet, but I've only played intermittently for the past ten years. This past year I've been practising my sax a lot, and I'm keen to join a band to keep that going. I've played in big bands before and I'd really like to do that again, or ska, something loud and upbeat.
I'm definitely not a virtuoso but I have a good ear for music, and I can play a decent tune if I have time to practise it. I've been learning to improvise, which I never did when I was younger. I'm still a beginner on that front but it's something I'd like to develop.
I have a 9-5 job, though I have Mondays off. I could probably commit a couple of hours a week to rehearsals, depending on the timing. I'm reliable - if I commit to something I'll be there. |
